Pink Floyd

I'm sure you have all heard of the band Pink Floyd.. Mother, Hey You, Bike. Yeah, and you probably have heard of Roger Waters. He was a part of the great band Pink Floyd, he left in 85' to begin his solo career. In my opinion he's a jerk. After he left his bandmates wanted to continue the tradition of the giant floating pig at their concerts. Roger Waters wanted to sue them for stealing his idea...

World Wide Web, Is It Really Destroying the Music Industry?

Most people today have ipods. You probably do. But how do you get your music onto your ipod? Do you buy cds and copy them onto your library? Do you buy them off of iTunes? Or do you download them off limewire, mp3 rocket, or other music sources?
Many many many people illegally download them off of limewire. Many people would say this is why the internet is destroying the music bizz. I agree and disagree. I think people should support CD's but realistically from the amount of various artists and music people listen to today people would be spending thousands and thousands a month, a year..
The internet has helped many up and coming artist become big. Also online websites like myspace and facebook have helped artists get the word out about their band, upcoming concerts, and other news.
So in my opinion I don't really think the web is destroying the music business as a whole, but I would like it if more albums were sold like they used to. Now bands are making more money threw things like.. clothing, band merch, contests, and shows.
Your opinion?

SP0RTS!

"Steep" is being released in theaters soon. The video shows a man skiing alongside an avalanche as if he was being carried along by a big white river. The skiiers fly down an almost completely vertical slope.. it's quite extreme.
Extreme sports have been becoming very popular in the last few years. If this video had come out ten years back it would have only been played on ESPN or other sporting channels.
Sports like soccer, baseball, and football are still played just as much, but more and more kids are getting into other extreme sports. Sports like skateboarding and snowboarding are very popular, also surfing, motocross, bmxing..& so on.
Also attending these events, competitions, hitting the skatepark, the mountain..whata fun social activity!
I like that more kids are getting into these sports, In my opinion, they're more fun ..and more fun to watch.
Do you do any of these sports?

What is Music?

Music is sound produced by vocal or instrumental tones, whether it be organized or unorganized. Music is a type of art, passionate feeling, and important to a lot of people.

Many people are saying that some music is the reason for many of todays teenager's misbehavoirs. According to these people, rap and rock/heavy metal have become the biggest problem. They say-rap music should be the blame for many teen pregnancies, encourages young sexual activity, makes boys become "sex-driven studs", and makes some teenagers become threatening to other teenagers. They're also calling rock/heavy metal music "dangerous". Phsycologists say that teens who show a liking towards this genre of music usually get low grades and abuse substances. Teachers are also saying that music has a negative effect on their students grades.

People choose to do the things they do, by the things that interest them or that they have fun doing, which may, or may not go along with their music taste. However, people who share common interests may enjoy the same type music. Nevertheless, words in just a single song can have a very powerful influence. An artist can make a song very powerful and relate to a person's problem, this can can help them overcome an obstacle or become more optomistic about their situation. But I do not believe music makes teenagers do the things they do.
